Pier 1 and Lincoln Center Campus

Testing out the camera, so I went to Pier 1 on Manhattan's westside.  Walked around Pier 1, South on Riverside Park and through the Lincoln Center campus.  I wanted to take picture just before dusk.

I'm learning to use the setting and features in different conditions.  I'm still adjusting to selecting features instead of depending on "auto", but looking at pictures taken with my previous camera on the same subject, pictures taken on my new camera are definitely of better quality.

New Camera

Bought a new camera.  As Canon S100, it's not a DSL but it's a step up from my previous camer.  I wanted a big boy camera, but don't think I'm ready for it.  I prefer to take pictures on the fly and dont have the time or patients to et up a shot using a dSL.

This camer has DSL capabilities which will prepare me for my next camer and it also has built in GPS.

I didn't play with all the settings, just auto setting with zoom.  I wanted to take pictures because it was overcast and to play around with different features and get accustomed to the camera.  These photos are not the greatest, but on the bright side, I can return to taking great pictures and writing reviews for you guys.

Lower Manhattan

Jacob Wrey Mould Fountain

I was playing tour guide and took a friend on a Sunday Stroll around Lower Manhattan.

We start our trip out at Jacob Wrey Mould Fountain at City Hall Park.  From here we go up on the Brooklyn Bridge.  We were going to walk to the other side but it still under renovations.

Down to Battery Park City.  We spent a few moments at "The Spear" memorial.  It's something to see this up close.  If you remember the Spears location and what this piece of art looked like prior to 9/11 it's amazing that it' survived in any form.

Over to the Vietnam Veterans Plaza Memorial.  I was amazed to find out that Dan Bullock altered his birth certificate to enlist in the Service.  He was only 14, he died at the age of 15.
