A Winter Walk in Harlem

I took a walk around my Harlem after the big snow!

I start at Marcus Garvey Park and work my way West.

Looking East toward Morningside Park

Midtown in the distance

This is a gorgeous building.  Such a beauty.

St. Nicholas Avenue could use a
good once over by the plows

The Harriet Tubman Memorial Statue

New Construction on Manhattan.  I find it boring.

These structures do not fit in with the architectural
character of the neighborhood

How long with these "blah" glass boxes hold up?

Most Harlem structures have character, good bones, and historical relevance.

Looking West toward Marcus Garvey Park

Morningside Park

This kids got the right idea.  Use the larger humans!

The loneliest little snowman

I wonder if this is a remnant of the cell sankofa
mentioned in an earlier post?

Kids at play

I think I found a date for lonely boy

She sure is a "looker", isn't she?!

Some view from the top of the park

Morningside Park and 110 Street

Central Park North at Dusk.  Spooky.
This area of the park could be New Yorks version of The Shining

Further down on Lenox Avenue I find

A happy family enjoying the Meer

Water fowl gather at the only opening in the water

Its dark and freezing cold out, I should get home

I hope you enjoyed.  Stay warm
