Bottino

Met up with Willie at Bottino for another quick meal.  I'd heard pretty good things about the space and food so I thought I was time for a meal.

Located in the Far Chelsea, yes - far, its a bit off the beaten path.  The venue is on a non descript block, but the restaurant and bar it's self has a nice cozy feeling.  The bar area is sleek without being to trendy.

From the bar you walk past the kitchen into the dining room.  The dining room is pretty large and has an outdoor patio.

The room has a nice amber glow, which give the space a very relaxed ambiance.  Its a perfect place for a low key dinner with colleagues or a romantic dinner with that special someone.

After settling in we order appetizers.  I ordered the Fritto Misto and Willie ordered the Pasta Appetizer with shrimp.   Willie's pasta was tasty and scrumptious.  My tempura tasted like a salt lick.  It was absolutely the worst appetizer I've ever ordered.  I began to worry I made a bad choice in restaurants.

I ordered the Sea Bass and Willie ordered the Whole Roasted Branzino.  Well the chef redeemed himself in my eyes.  The Bass was prepared perfectly and the mashed potatoes were off the chain!  The Branzino was tender and flaky.

Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu without being obtrusive or condescending.

Bottino is definitely worth a repeat visit.
