Kittichai

I went to Kittichai for dinner and had a great experience from start to finish.  This wasn't just a restaurant, this was an experience.

Once you enter, you're in a colorful but small bar/lounge area.

From the lounge your are led down a small hallway to the main dining room which is beautiful and serene.  The main dining room has a water feature a in the center which has floating candles and lily pads - soothing and calming.

We’re seated at a booth against the wall.  The seating in the dining room nicely space planned and the table aren't too close together.

Our server appeared and offered special and the wait staff was right behind with supplemental requests.

For appetizers we ordered mussels and Chocolate spare ribs.

The muscles smelled fab and the chocolate spare ribs were supper tender and had a little kick in the chocolate sauce.  The ribs must be very popular as diners at three nearby tables also order the ribs.

There were several entrees that caught my eye.  I ordered the Sea Bass and Willie ordered the crispy fish.  My Sea Bass super flaky and sweet the way I like it and the sauteed morning glory hit the spot.

The crispy snapper wasn’t as flavorful as Willie had wished but none the less still delicious and filling.  The items were presented in a lovely manner but the portions were a little small in my opinion.  Not the smallest, but something seemed to be lacking on the plate and I can’t put my finger on it.

We closed out our meal with desert.  Willie ordered the flourless Valrhona chocolate cake and I had a the crepes, which was a special.

The cake was a bitch rich for my blood.  The crepes were light and airy and the orange sauce sweet!  My kind of desert!  Once again the presentation was great, which made the anticipation of the first bite so much more enjoyable.

Kittichai is definitely a date restaurant.  Great food and environment, along with good service.  If you’re really into someone and want to have a nice meal, I would strongly suggest Kittichai.
