Roosevelt Island

Whether by car, the F train, or a sky ride on the tram across the East River, families can visit Roosevelt Island for a day of barbequing, outdoor movies and concerts, bike riding, and playing in the island’s 147 acres of outdoor parks and promenades.

Situated in the middle of the East River, Roosevelt Island parallels Manhattan from approximately the Mid 40's to the MId 80's.

Access to Roosevelt Island is via Subway and Tram. The tram is undergoing a complet reconstruction.

The F Train Station.  I love it as it's sort of "futuristic", I guess they how they built stations in the 80's

When you exit the station you're presented with an awesome view of the Eastside of Manhattan.

From the Eastside Promenade you have picturesque views of the Long Island City/Hunters Point Waterfront.

You can also find the tree where old weaves go to die!

From the Southern portion of the Island you get spectacular views of the bridges and the Lower Midtown East Skyline.

Dilapidated buildings of the Goldwater complex.

On the Western Promenade, heading north.

From the Northern End of the Island you can see
Harlem

...and a very interesting cool looking development in Queens

Aloha from Roosevelt Island
